After 2 years searching for an answer I was officially diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2020 at the ripe old age of 48. It is a progressive disease that takes one down an unknown path as it evolves differently for each person. Trust me this is not a rabbit hole you want to dig down too deep, so I am playing it's little game. This January the FDA approved a new 24 hour infusion which helps to minimize outward symptoms and has been helpful in me maintaining personal and professional normality, to a degree. What's next? Who knows, but I will fight it just as you would expect me to!
The 5k this year is on my birthday, so if nothing else instead of buying me a beer throw in $5 or maybe $10 if you would buy me a fine stout:)
You could also register for the 5k I will be there with my girls and Katie and some Wentz's. No pressure to run, I won't be, but you do what you want!
Thank you for reading!

The 5KforJK is a local fundraising campaign, with the mission to improve the lives of those living with Parkinson's. Since 2021, 5KforJK has been more than a walk, it’s a patient-led movement replacing fear with truth. Based in Columbus, we’re helping people with Parkinson’s feel seen, supported, and empowered!
We need your support! The 5KforJK 5th annual walk/run will be held again at Olentangy Liberty Middle School Track at Liberty Middle School in Powell, OH on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Please consider donating to my fundraising page and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance the 5KforJK's great cause! Additionally, if you are interested in participating in the walk/run, you can click here to register for the event.
Together, we can make a difference!
