STORY:
Our daughter, Jessica Krauser, was diagnosed with Young-onset Parkinson's disease in 2019 at the age of 37. With a loving husband, her beautiful twins, family and friends by her side, a walk was organized in 2021 to raise money for research. But Jessica and her friends recognized a larger need in the Parkinson's community - awareness on how to have a better quality of life while living with this neurodegenerative disease. They started a 501(c)(3) non-profit for Parkinson's, the 5KforJK. What started as a walk for 1 has turned into a movement for the 1 million living with Parkinson's in the U.S.
Donations from last year allowed the team to build and distribute over 700 Parkinson's kits, support multiple Parkinson's exercise classes, and contribute to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. We are so proud of Jessica and how she turned her degenerative disease into passion that is driving advocacy for a community that is widely misunderstood and misrepresented.
To maintain and expand those programs, we need your support! The 5KforJK 4th annual walk/run will be held again at Liberty Middle School in Powell, OH on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Please consider donating to my fundraising page and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar we raise will advance the 5KforJK's great cause of creating FREE educational PD kits, exercise programs, and UberHealth rides to the gym for those who can no longer drive alone.
