My 5KforJK Fundraising Page

As many of you  know, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease approximately three years ago. PD is the fastest-growing neurological disorder worldwide. In the United States, its estimated annual incidence is approximately 90,000.  A new case is diagnosed approximately once every six minutes.  It is the world’s fastest-growing neurodegenertive disease.  There is no known cure, but exercise can reduce the symptoms and retard the progress of the disease.

Since diagnosis, I have been actively involved with pDNextSteps, an exercise and wellness program for those living with PD.  It’s biggest annual fundraiser, the “5KforJK” will occur this year on September 14.

Since 2021, the 5KforJK has been more than a walk, but a patient-led movement replacing fear with strength and knowledge. Based in Columbus, it helps people with PD feel supported, and empowered through free awareness kits, local exercise programs, and “The Secret Life of Parkinson’s” podcast. The 5KforJK means as lot to me because the organization’s work makes an enormous difference in how people with PD feel and how they live.

We need your support! The 5KforJK 5th annual walk/run will be held again at Olentangy Liberty Middle School Track at Liberty Middle School in Powell, OH on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Please consider donating to my fundraising page and sharing this page with your family and friends. Each dollar will advance the 5KforJK's great cause! Additionally, if you are interested in participating in the walk/run, you can click here to register for the event.

THERE IS STILL TIME TO PARTICIPATE!  THE WEBSITE WILL CONTINUE TO ACCEPT CONTRIBUTIONS EVEN AFTER THE EVENT!

Thank you for your consideration.  Together, we can make a difference!

The 5KforJK is an annual fundraising campaign by Changing Parkinson's, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that seeks to equip and empower individuals to make a difference in their own lives and in the PD community. Learn more at www.ChangingParkinsons.org.
